L'Oreal Cushion Foundation

Ok, so what is a cushion foundation? I could be looked as a less messy way of using liquid foundation. The foundation is poured onto a sponge which is all inside a compact and you get the product out by pressing against the sponge with whatever tool you choose to use! The compact has 2 compartments, the first has the applicator sponge and the bottom has the cushion which prevents it from drying out. It also has a nice mirror on the inside lid so it's perfect for on the go. The L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation itself is a lightweight, natural looking foundation with buildable coverage from light to medium.

My verdict? I really like it BUT there is a massive issue. I'm not sure if it's just the store I went in to buy mine, but the colour range was shocking. I think in America they must have more shades but like I said in my store it was awful, there was about 5 shades? I don't know maybe because it's new, but I was surprised as L'Oreal is normally great for their shades. I bought '07 golden beige' and it was actually too pale for me, it washed me out a bit, so I went to test '09 beige' and it was completely the wrong tone. It was such a shame because I loved it. It's the perfect finish for me and lasts all day on my face, just not a close enough shade for me! And one other little thing I also didn't like is the applicator sponge this it comes with. I find it really hard to work with, but it's not the end of the world as I would prefer to use my beauty blender anyway!
With the shade issue, I had a brainwave and bought the L'Oreal Glam Bronze Cushion Soleil (cushion bronzer) and I fell in LOVE. Basically I just use that all over my face like foundation and I am more than happy. My neck and rest of my body is naturally darker than my face, and I also have a really uneven complexion on my face so when I use foundation I only need it really for colour correction. This product perfectly matches most of my face (minus the lighter areas on my cheeks) and also my neck/body. Like the cushion foundation, the cushion bronzer doesn't get cakey or stick to dry patches as it is a very lightweight formula, but also has enough pigment to give a great glow and even out my skin tone! Again no fragrance either so good for sensitive skin.

I would defo recommend both the L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation and the L'Oreal Glam Bronze Cushion Soleil. Both are perfect for anyone who wants a fresh, lightweight, natural looking base that lasts all day! I would recommend this foundation for anyone with normal/dry skin as it doesn't emphasise any dry patches, its quite moisturising. This is because this foundation is an emollient formulation so on the other hand, people with oily skin, this is not the best one for you! The price is £14.99 and you can pick it up from Boots or Superdrug etc. Has anyone else tried this foundation/ bronzer?

  1. Sounds great Tori. I'm in need of a new bronzer, so I'll definitely try this one out. What a pity the stores don't stock many shades of the foundation though!

    1. Yes it might be nice to try a completely different type of bronzer, and they defo need to get some more shades out, especially for darker skin tones! It's a shame as it's a really good foundation! xx
